This tour covers 50kms of our unique city. Listen as you tour guide tells you of the impact the enormous wealth of the Silver City had on the development of our great country.
This city was founded from the discovery of the richest ore body in the Southern Hemisphere. You will visit the Line of Lode Miners Memorial and Visitors Centre, this magnificent new attraction is located at the highest point of the Line of Lode overlooking the city.Hear of the origins of BHP and their eventual departure from the Silver City. See the vast differences from the early miners cottages to the modern homes of today. Your guide will show you the wonderful heritage buildings, churches and hotels.
Take note of our green parklands and the magnificent fully grassed Broken Hill Golf Course, something that was just a dream to the early pioneers in the semi arid climate.

Silver City Tours - Whites Mineral Art and Mining Museum (Friday)
White's Mineral Arts and Mining Museum is a unique experience, where you can go underground without actually going under!
There is a walk-in mine for family viewing and guided tours and mining models for ease of understanding. A video on the history of mining in Broken Hill is screened.
There is also an exhibition of crushed mineral collage art works and an extensive collection of handmade dolls and bears are on display.

Silver City Tours - Royal Flying Doctor Service (Thursday)
Visit the famous Royal Flying Doctor Service. Learn how these dedicated people provide medical service to outback areas. This hardworking service started by John Flynn forms a “Mantle of Safety” in the vast outback. A terrific photo opportunity awaits as we arrive at “The Guardian”, the magnificent four metre sculpture in the forecourt.
You will be taken on a tour of the brand new Medical centre and view the aircraft hangar and view the aero medical aircraft’s.
A tour through the Visitor’s centre will include a visit to the museum with interactive displays, showing the history of the Service, as well as viewing a short film on the work of the RFDS. A chance to shop for RFDS souvenirs and memorabilia is available.

Tour visits many galleries including Pro Harts, one of the largest private art collections in Australia, Jack Absaloms Gallery and the Silver City Mint and Art Centre featuring Peter Anderson and is home to The Big Picture, featuring stunning panoramas.
